A 21-year-old man, who is known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and inquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.
KentOnline spoke to residents at the scene this afternoon.
Carol Heathfield, who has lived in the street since 1979, says she saw a person being carried in a stretcher.
And at one point, she says there were about 15 police officers at the scene and a helicopter circling above.
But she adds it is the second police incident along her road in the past week – with armed officers reportedly called to another address days ago.
“I am worried as it is getting out of hand,” the 80-year-old said.
“It’s not little things, it’s major.
“There were armed police called earlier this week.
“I am getting a bit fed up with it now. It is very scary.”
Jones Hak, who has lived there for 16 years, witnessed the huge emergency response.
“They took somebody out on a stretcher and put them in an ambulance,” the 57-year-old said.
“It is a quiet area. This is the first time I have seen this many police cars in this road.”
