Car fire causes delays on London-bound M2 at Strood

There were delays on the London-bound M2 last night after a car caught fire.

Fire crews were sent to the scene between J2 and J1 at Strood just after 7pm.

The Highways Agency also attended, as well as the police who provided traffic control.

Delays built up in the area as firefighters tackled the blaze, with one lane closed.

Fire crews remained at the scene damping down and turning over until just before 8pm.
