A driver watched in horror as a car "exploded" in front of him as he waited to pick up his girlfriend from work.
Jack Brydges was sat outside Lordswood Ten Pin Bowling and Snooker Centre on Saturday night when the fireball drama unfurled before his eyes.
The 29-year-old lift engineer filmed the blaze on his phone as it ripped through the parked BMW.
Within seconds the blaze had reduce the sports car to a shell on the roadside in Chatham.
Jack was on his way to meet his girlfriend Jess, who works behind the bar at the club in Newton Close at around 6pm.
He said: "I could hear the the alarms going as I drove up. It was well alight when I got there.
"There was a loud bang, a bit like a firework.
"The fire brigade were there within minutes and had it under control in minutes."
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "One fire engine attended the incident and crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire, which is believed to have started in the bonnet.
"No casualties were reported."
