Boy taken to King's College Hospital with potential serious injuries after Rainham bike crash

A boy has been left with "potentially serious injuries" after crashing with a van while riding his bike.

The air ambulance landed in Rainham yesterday afternoon following the incident in Broadview Avenue.

Police say no arrests have been made and the youngster had been airlifted to hospital.

The nature of the boy's injuries have not been revealed.

But ambulance service spokesman Rich Airey confirmed he was severely hurt.

The helicopter took him to King's College Hospital in London after initially being treated and assessed at the scene by paramedics.

The incident took place shortly after 3.20pm on the residential street and witnesses saw the helicopter flying low over the town.

Police closed the road while the boy was treated.
