There have been delays near the Medway Tunnel after two incidents.

Police were called to the A289 Pier Road in Gillingham this afternoon at around 2pm.

A refuse truck had broken down on the carriageway between the Medway Tunnel and Pier Approach Road.

Police were needed on the scene to help divert traffic until it was cleared.

A traffic report said: "Reports of A289 both ways closed, delays due to police incident from B2004 to Pier Approach Road."

There was a separate incident on nearby Rosebery Road which has been described as a "medical incident" by police. The fire service and paramedics were on the scene.
