Car driver urged to come forward after motorbike crash in Rainham

Police say they are trying to trace the driver of an SUV-type car which was travelling in front of a motorbike that was involved in crash with a recovery truck earlier this afternoon.

The air ambulance was called to the scene in Otterham Quay Lane, Rainham, just before 3pm, alongside other emergency services and the road remains closed and officers remain at the scene.

Now, police are appealing for the driver of a dark SUV-typed model, which is thought to have been driving in front of the bike towards the A2, to come forward.

Investigators from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit remain at the scene.

A witness at the scene said: "I didn't see what happened but several people had stopped to help the casualty and call the emergency services.

"The air ambulance landed in a field next to the road and was there for about half an hour before leaving."

Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 101 quoting reference 19-740 or email sciu.td@kent.police.uk.
