Dockside Outlet shopping centre car park 'murder victim' named as Molly McLaren, 23, from Cobham, Kent

A young woman who died after a serious attack in a Chatham shopping centre car park has been named locally as Molly McLaren from Cobham, near Gravesend.

The 23-year-old was thought to be student at the University of Kent where she was studying Exercise, Sport and Health Education.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Flowers have been left at the Dockside Outlet shopping centre car park, and people have started sharing tributes online.

Kevin White tweeted: "Thoughts and condolences to the family of Molly McLaren. It was a pleasure to work with her and was a model employee. Such sad news."

Jamie Heath said: "I can't believe what I have just read. Most loveliest down to earth girl I've met, heart of gold. Gone too soon. RIP Molly McLaren."

Miss McLaren's next of kin has been told.

A coroner's officer confirmed they had been informed of her death.
