A woman onboard the ship had been left stricken and required the assistance of search and rescue crews.

The HM Coastguard's helicopter was then sent from Lydd to assist.

Crews managed to successfully winch the casualty from the vessel to a nearby safe landing site prepared by Medway and Sheppey's coastguard rescue teams.

The casualty was checked over by paramedics and reported well, with no medical aid required.
