Child injured in crash in Wayfield Road, Chatham

A teenage boy was airlifted to a London hospital after a crash with a car.

The 13-year-old was involved in the incident in Wayfield Road, Chatham, at around 5.45pm yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage.

The incident happened at the junction between Burma Way and Arnhem Drive.

The boy was riding a green bike and the car was a blue Vauxhall Zafira.

He was taken to King's College Hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

South East Coast Ambulance service spokesman Rich Airey said: "The boy was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being taken by road to King's College Hospital.

"The air ambulance team joined us in our ambulance to treat the boy en route to hospital."
