A dealer has been sent to prison after police found texts on his phone saying his drugs were "the best in town".

Alfie Mulholland was jailed for more than four years for supplying crack cocaine and heroin.

The 26-year-old of Sealand Drive, Strood, was found in his bedroom during a pre-planned search warrant carried out by police in February.

Police seized his phone, and after downloading its data, discovered it was filled with texts relating to the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

Amongst the messages were boasts about his products being "10/10" and the "best in town".

The messages had been sent to known drug users in the Medway Towns.

Mulholland was arrested for the offences on Wednesday, April 8 and was remanded in custody.

While being detained, he urinated in his cell, despite there being a working toilet available. It had to be deep cleaned.

He was later charged with all three offences and has been held on remand since.

Mulholland and his brother Perry avoided jail last year after a revenge attack on a rival.

However, he admitted the drug offences in Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, April 8 and was sentenced yesterday to four years and eight months at Maidstone Crown Court.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Robin Hemsley, said: "Although we were did not find Mulholland in direct possession of class A substances, we were able to uncover clear evidence of his offending by checking his mobile phone records.

"There is no place in the Medway Towns for people who seek to profit from the misery caused by substance abuse and we will always use the full remit of our powers to identify, target and prosecute offenders."
