Barn fire in Meresborough Road, Rainham

Four fire engines were sent to tackle a barn fire yesterday afternoon.

Crews were called to Meresborough Road in Rainham at 2.41pm, and used hose reels and compressed air foam to extinguish the flames.

By 4.30pm, firefighters were damping down the area, and the incident was handed over to the owner of the barn shortly after 5pm.

People are no longer being advised to avoid the area.
