An exact opening date is yet to be revealed, but the eatery will launch this month (May), serving “aromatic curries, sizzling tandoori grills, and flavourful street food”.

A spokesman for the restaurant said: “Experience the vibrant tastes of India through dishes crafted with traditional recipes and fresh ingredients from every region.

“Ki Khana promises an unforgettable culinary journey. Visit us soon to discover a true taste of India by the beautiful marina."

Boarding for the new restaurant has been placed around the unit and promises “coming soon”, but signage for Babasheesh remains.

The latter closed its doors earlier this month.

Babasheesh also had a second location, in Earl Street, Maidstone – in what had previously been events venue The Green Rooms.

But, this was shut down sometime in the new year after nearly two years of opening.
