Firefighters were called to a Rainham takeaway last night to tackle a blaze in a deep fat fryer.
Crews were called to Jack's Fish Bar the town's High Street just after 8pm, where they used a dry powder extinguisher to put the flames out.
They left just after 9pm.
There are no reports of any injuries and the cause has not yet been established.
