Both crashes happened at around 12.20pm.

Police say no injuries have been reported in the crash involving the caravan and lane closures were in place due to the vehicle obstructing the carriageway.

The second collision is said to have taken place around the same time, closer to Junction 3.

It is reported to have involved three vehicles and South East Coast Ambulance Service were assessing for injuries at the scene.

All lanes have since been reopened on the London-bound carriageway but there were further delays after a third crash on the coastbound carriageway, between Junctions 3 at Chatham and Junction 4 at Gillingham just before 3.15pm.

Police say the crash involved two cars and no serious injuries were reported.
