Two-car crash at Goudhurst Road, Gillingham, at junction with Eastcourt Lane

A driver was cut from wreckage following a serious crash last night.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were sent to a two-car smash in Goudhurst Road, Gillingham, at about 9pm.

An eyewitness said it happened at the junction with Eastcourt Lane.

They added that crews had to cut off the door and roof from a Ford.

Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to free a casualty trapped inside one of the cars.

An incident report confirmed fire crews had left by 10.10pm.

A police spokesman said: "Officers, the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended where a man was helped out his vehicle and treated for injuries.

"He was taken to hospital for further medical attention."

The South East Coast Ambulance Service was contacted for comment.
