Uddin denied he was supplying the drugs but when officers checked his mobile phone, numerous messages regarding to the supply of both substances were uncovered.

He denied possessing the class A drugs with intent to supply, instead, he argued that they were for personal use.

A jury found him guilty of both offences following a trial at Maidstone Crown Court.

He was sentenced on Friday, March 15.

Detective Constable Mark Donovan, the investigating officer for this case, said: "Uddin denied being a drug dealer but all of the evidence suggested otherwise.

"He told multiple lies throughout his defence, despite the obvious evidence he was guilty. I am pleased that we have now been able to secure a custodial sentence.

"This case is one of many examples of Kent Police officers proactively patrolling the towns they serve, uncovering crimes in progress and bringing the offenders before the courts."
