Following a search the 19-year-old was found with 45 tablets of MDMA (also known as ecstasy), 34g of cannabis and another 10g of ketamine.

A hearing at Medway Magistrates' Court heard how Kenny, of Lyndhurst Avenue, Rainham, was in a black Vauxhall Corsa on March 2 last year when the vehicle was stopped.

Police also found £325 in cash and drugs paraphernalia inside the car including scales, the court heard.

Prosecutor Victoria McGrady said when police arrived there was a cannabis-smell coming from the car and Kenny's eyes were "glazed over".

She added the teenager would be facing three to four-and-a-half years in prison and applied for the case to be sent to the Crown Court.

Kenny was released on conditional bail to appear at Maidstone Crown Court for sentencing on a date to be determined.
