A driver has been arrested following a crash on the M2 this morning.

Highways officials were forced to close one lane of the coast-bound stretch between junction 3 and 4 at Chatham just before 7am.

Police have now arrested the driver of the grey Peugeot 206 on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and theft from a motor vehicle.

Officers say they found stolen items in the back of the car.
