Suspected Chatham drug dealers in court after police make arrests in Hartington Street

A pair of suspected dealers have been charged with drugs offences.

Plain clothes officers spotted what they believed to be a drug deal taking place in the Hartington Street area of Chatham.

They carried out a search of the area as a result at about 2.20pm on Thursday.

Officers reportedly discovered 39 wraps, suspected to be crack cocaine and heroin, a mobile phone and a quantity of cash. The items were seized by police.

Callum Thompson, 27 of Albany Road, Gillingham and Arron Clarke, 24, of no fixed abode were both arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Thompson was also charged on suspicion of being in possession of criminal property.

Both suspects were remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

At the hearing they were further remanded and are now due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court.
