Police were called to reports of a man wandering on the motorway - who turned out to be wanted on a warrant.

Officers attended the M2 near Rochester at around 9am this morning (Saturday, June 22).

The 22-year-old man from Sheerness was seen on the carriageway and was described as drunk.

Upon arrest, police officers found out that he was the subject of a warrant by Medway Magistrates Court for shoplifting offences.

He remains in custody.
