Two men charged over Gillingham High Street robbery

Two suspects have been charged with robbery after a man was allegedly targeted in a town centre.

The victim, who is in his 30s, told police he had been threatened after withdrawing cash from a cash machine in High Street, Gillingham , around 2am on Tuesday.

A second man, who is in his 40s and was with the alleged victim, was reportedly assaulted by one of the two offenders.

Clive Tilly and Dean Martin were later identified as suspects and arrested in connection with the incident.

Tilly, 38, of Tobruk Way, Chatham , has been charged with robbery and assault, while Martin, 32, of James Street, Gillingham, has been charged with robbery.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
