Fears labradoodle pup may have been stolen from Darland Banks, Gillingham

The owner of a 12-week-old pup who went missing while on a walk has made an emotional plea to find her pet.

Mini labradoodle Oaty was last seen on Thursday at Darland Banks, Gillingham, between about 8.30am and 9am.

Owner Sally Tether said she regularly walks her other dogs – labrador Lolly and mini labradoodle Daisy – and decided to take Oaty with them.

While off her lead, Sally thinks the pup got spooked by barking and ran away.

She said: "I was walking her with my other two dogs off of her lead and it was a split second where I didn't have my eye on her and she was gone.

"The rest is history and I've been looking for her ever since. My brain is in overdrive.

"I think she got spooked by some barking dogs and I looked down and she wasn't there.

"So many people are searching for her and looking in the bushes but we think she might have been taken.

"I can't believe how many people have come together to help us look."

The 43-year-old has now launched a social media campaign aimed at finding the pet.

Sally says she has been inundated with offers of help and possible sightings and is offering a reward for information leading to the dog's safe return.

She added: "I'm going to leave no stone unturned to find Oaty and make her so red hot that anyone who has her will have no option but to hand her in.

"The price of puppies at the moment has soared with lockdown.

"I'm hoping that she's taken to the vet and then she'll be traced back to me."

Oaty had been with Sally and her family for a month before going missing.

Speaking to anyone who might have the dog, Sally added: "Please, please bring her back to where she belongs.

"She's part of our family and I'll never be able to rest because I'll always wonder what's happened to her. Please bring her home."

Thankfully there has been a happy ending to the story - read more here.
