Sean Raggett, from Gillingham, scores last minute header for Lincoln to defeat Burnley in the FA Cup

A last minute header from a former Medway schoolboy secured his team's place in the FA Cup quarter finals and in the history books.

Sean Raggett has lived in Gillingham all his life but moved north in the summer after signing for National League Premier side Lincoln City.

Today, the 23-year-old defender powered home a header in the 89th minute to send them into the last eight becoming the first non-league team to reach the quarter-finals of the competition since 1914.

The goal secured them a 1-0 win against Premier League side Burnley at Turf Moor.

Raggett, a former Rainham Mark pupil, helped Lincoln defeat Ipswich in the third round and Championship leaders Brighton in round four.

Speaking ahead of today's match Raggett said: “To be in the fifth round of the FA Cup and top of the league, well, you couldn’t really ask for much more could you?”

Raggett spent a couple of years as a youth player with the Gills before joining Dover, where he progressed through to the first team.

His move to Lincoln means a regular commute from Medway for his parents, who watch him play home and away.
