Tributes paid to St Margaret's Church of England Junior School dinner lady who had a heart attack

A family has found some closure after receiving the final post-mortem results into the sudden death of a mother-of-two.

Lisa Harle, of Kings North Road, Gillingham, had a heart attack after she returned home from lunch with her two sons.

The initial post mortem didn't return a conclusive answer into what caused her death and Lisa's separated husband, Mike Harle, took the case to a specialist cardiac pathologist.

Lisa had suffered from cardiomegaly associated with left ventricular fibrosis – a rare form of hereditary heart disease which doesn't display any symptoms.

Investigations into her passing were delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now Mike, and their two sons – Ollie, 12, and Lucas, 13, – have the answers they have been waiting for, Lisa can be cremated.

On August 14, Ollie found his mum lying on the floor unresponsive.

He called Mike for help, who arrived and performed CPR before paramedics took her to William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

The first responders managed to restart Lisa's heart, but unfortunately their efforts were in vain as too much damage had been done.

She spent a fortnight under close observation before she passed away on August 28.

Mike said: "She just collapsed out of the blue. We just didn't know, she never complained about any shortness of breath, chest pains, or anything.

"That's what made it so devastating. You normally have some symptoms, it was just completely out of the blue and it was just horrible.

"It's been such a long process, with Covid, that we've only just heard this week that this is the final post-mortem.

"It has provided some closure for us now we can hold a service for her.

"She was only 49, but she was so much younger than that. She was very bubbly, funny, and she had a great personality.

"She was fun loving, and she loved her fashion and stuff like that, loved her job and was just a lovely, lovely girl.

"Her death has left a massive hole in the hearts of so many people. People that I've never heard of have been getting in touch to pay their respects.

"They boys have been getting so much help from their school, which is great.

"They've started counselling and I'm just making sure I'm there for them. Everyone has been so supportive.

"Lisa will be hugely missed by her two boys and all her loving family."

The mum worked as a dinner lady at St Margaret's Church of England Junior School in Gillingham.

Her funeral service will be held at Blue Bell Hill Crematorium at 3pm on December 3.
