The inquest held at Archbishop's Palace, Maidstone, yesterday, heard the 32-year-old's body was discovered seven days later following an extensive search.

It was unusual for him to drink alcohol, in fact, he often chose water on nights out.

He had been taking anabolic steroids as part of his fitness routine, but this was not felt to a be contributing factor.

The court also heard he had not registered with any mental health organisations.

Coroner Katrina Hepburn concluded Mr Angell had taken his own life.

She said: "I am satisfied that at the time he fell he did intend to take his own life.

"The balance of his mind was disturbed by the alcohol levels.

"I find the cause of death to be drowning after jumping into the river following alcohol consumption."

Mr Angell had been living in Chute Close, Parkwood, Rainham, with his wife Danielle.

His death led MP Tracey Crouch to call for measures to prevent people from being able to fall from the structure.
