Fire and ambulance crews have been called out to a roof fire in Chatham.

The blaze, at a home in Madden Avenue, broke out at 12.13pm and it took three fire engines from Medway and Strood just over 35 minutes to put it out.

Three people had to be medically treated at the scene.

A woman and another person suffered smoke inhalation, while a man sustained burns to his hands.

One of the group was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment.

Fire crews are still at the scene dampening down and working to establish the cause of the fire.
