Firefighters called to oven fire in Weston Road, Strood

Firefighters tackled an oven fire in Strood last night.

A crew were called to Weston Road at 8pm after a plastic tray, which was being used to cook chicken, caught fire.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the public should always make sure they are cooking with the right utensils.

Firefighters were at the scene for about 20 minutes.

The kitchen was not damaged by the fire and there are no reported injuries.
