Great Lines Heritage Park firework display cancelled due to bad weather

A fireworks display in Medway has been cancelled because of bad weather.

Thousands of people were expected to gather at Great Lines Heritage Park tonight for the Towns' biggest firework event.

However, Medway Council confirmed that event organisers had to ditch the display "due to the continued bad weather".

They've also said that as it stands there are no plans to reschedule the fireworks.

The announcement comes after Kent's biggest fireworks show at Leeds Castle was also cancelled.

The event, which was set to take place from 7pm to 8.30pm, recently made the decision to swap their usual bonfire for a musical laser show after failing to secure a contractor.
