Forensic officers and police attend Pioneer Wharf development along River Medway in Chatham

Forensic officers have been spotted going into a new housing development this evening.

One vehicle and another police car were seen heading into Pioneer Wharf in Chatham shortly before 9pm.

The block of flats, which sit opposite The Pentagon shopping centre and Chatham Waterfront bus station, are located at the junction of Medway Street and Globe Lane.

It is not yet known if anyone has died following the incident.

The waterfront development features one and two bedroom apartments on the River Medway and is part of Chatham's regeneration scheme.

Construction on the scheme remains ongoing and will eventually see 71 homes built.
