Proposals have been submitted to convert a former doctor’s surgery into flats as part of the latest series of planning applications sent to a council.
The Railside Surgery in Gillingham closed its services earlier this year with patients transferred to the Balmoral Gardens Clinic.
A planned rent increase was communicated to the practice in October of last year, and after a review it was determined that continuing to provide services from the surgery was no longer financially viable.
The two-storey property, which contains an entrance hall, six rooms and a toilet, sold at auction with Clive Emsons in September for £360,000.
Now plans have been lodged with Medway Council to convert the semi-detached Victorian Villa in Railway Street, Gillingham into flats.
The overall proposal is for six, self contained, one-bed flats, including a small rear extension.
Two of the proposed flats will be covered by a separate prior notification application which has also been lodged.
Elsewhere, a former barber shop could be transformed into a new hot food takeaway and café.
Plans have been lodged to change the use of the one-time hairdressers in Chapel Road, Isle of Grain, with the reinstatement of the original shopfront and installation of an extraction flue to the rear.
Among other applications, a site nearby in Grain Road could see refurbishment works to two overhead power lines by UK Power Networks to strengthen the local electricity network, including works within a protected RAMSAR site.
In Chatham, retrospective plans have been made to retain outdoor seating, glass screens and planters at premises on the High Street.
A property in Luton Road could see a new single-storey garage and storage space built to replace the existing outbuilding.
Elsewhere in Rainham, an existing conservatory could be replaced with a new single-storey rear extension in Edwin Road, and a house in Pembury Way could gain new front and rear dormers to expand its roof space.
