Trains via Gillingham affected by signalling problems says Southeastern

Trains via a major Kent town remain disrupted tonight (Thursday) after signalling problems.

Southeastern announced earlier this evening that trains via Gillingham were expected to be affected because of a signalling fault.

Later it said that this difficulty had been resolved but services would continue to be hit.

Both the 17.41 and 18.41 services from Cannon Street to Dover were cancelled.

There were no high speed services running via Gillingham with passengers at St Pancras requiring Medway and beyond being told to travel to Ebbsfleet and use Fastrack bus route B at no extra cost to travel to Gravesend where onward journey options were available.

A post on X, at about 7.40pm, said: “Services may be delayed, altered or cancelled while we work to return the service to normal.”
