Gardener charged after house in Gravesend burgled

A man has been charged after a house in Gravesend was burgled.

Police say a man approached homeowners in Valley Drive on June 17 offering to carry out some gardening with a colleague for a set fee.

While the men were gardening at the house money was stolen from the property, along with a bank card, which was later used at a shop in the town.

Officers made inquiries and a man was arrested and later charged.

Daniel Johnson, 39, of Oak Road, Gravesend, has been charged with burglary and fraud.

Johnson appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 22, and was bailed to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on July 20.
