The site neighbours Leigh Academy Rainham which is due to open next month.

Longfield-based Esquire Developments has submitted plans for the homes in outline meaning it has omitted detail on how the site would be accessed. However, architect's drawings show the site could be accessed via the A2.

The area has been used for grazing horses and also neighbours the Chatham main line.

The proposals are due to be considered by Medway Council's planning department by Monday, October 25.

Earlier this year, Bellway Homes opened a public consultation on plans to build 78 new homes on land directly next to the new secondary school.
