Medway Maritime Hospital to close car park two for resurfacing works

A visitors’ car park at Medway Maritime Hospital will be closed this weekend as essential resurfacing work continues.

As part of the hospital’s ongoing improvement programme, car park two at the rear of the site will be closed on Saturday and Sunday while the hospital perimeter road is relaid.

The roundabout near the Marlborough Road entrance will also be closed.

The main road that runs outside the emergency department will become two-way so vehicles will enter and leave the site at the Windmill Road entrance.

Patient and visitor car park one, which has capacity for 371 vehicles, will remain open as usual, as will staff car park c.

There will be heavy industrial machinery on site from tonight (Friday) and extra security staff and signage will help direct visitors, patients and staff.

Car park one was resurfaced earlier this month and work on the main road outside A&E to improve access for ambulances has now been completed.
