Police and ambulances called to Stonegrove site on Medway City Estate

Emergency services responded to an incident at a factory.

Ambulances and police were seen outside the business on the Medway City Estate in Strood this morning.

They were dealing with a "medical incident" at the Stonegrove site on Whitewall Road.

Three police cars, four paramedic vehicles - two ambulances and two critical care cars - were outside the electrical engineering and air conditioning firm shortly after 10am.

A member of staff, who did not wish to be named, would only say it was a "private matter".

A patient was resuscitated at the scene after collapsing, ambulance spokesman Rich Airey confirmed.

The person was then taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in a serious condition.

Emergency services were at the scene for more than an hour.
