A driver is being hunted by police after making off from the scene of a rush-hour crash.
Officers were called at 7.45am to Pier Road in Gillingham following reports of two cars colliding.
Two patrol cars have blocked part of the road while officers carry out inquiries and a search has been launched to find the missing driver.
Police spokesman Martin Very said: "Officers are at the scene where inquiries are ongoing to identify one of the drivers who left prior to the arrival of patrols.
"One lane is currently closed while arrangements are being made to recover a vehicle."
The crash involved a grey Hyundai Jeep and white Hyundai hatchback at the junction with Pegasus Way near the Liberty Quays student accommodation.
Traffic was backing up towards the Medway Tunnel after the incident.
