PYO Pumpkins, Hoo, ask schools to get involve with pumpkin challenge

A pumpkin farm have challenged schools to see who can grow the biggest pumpkin.

PYO Pumpkins, Beluncle Farm, Stoke Rd, Hoo, have sent out seeds to primary schools across Medway with the hope of educating young people about pumpkins.

It is all part of their 10 year anniversary celebrations.

Farm owner Verity Batchelor said: "Our visitors, young and old are always so excited about seeing the size and varieties of pumpkins at the farm and are interested in how they grow so big.

"We thought that it might be fun for the Medway primary schools to get involved and have a go as well. This is both educational for the children and rewarding for the schools."
