Great British Bake Off runner-up Laura Adlington has revealed she is pregnant.
The TV personality who found fame in the Channel 4 hit show has announced she is expecting an “IVF miracle” with husband Matt.
The 36-year-old, originally from Gravesend, took to social media platform Instagram to share the exciting news after struggling with infertility for nine years.
She said: “We’d honestly made peace with the idea that having children might not happen for us.
“But a year and a half ago we quietly decided to give IVF a try.
“We kept it to ourselves and decided not to share it online (or with our family) just so we didn’t put more pressure on ourselves.”
After one unsuccessful and another cancelled round, Laura found out she was finally pregnant a couple of months ago.
She said: It’s been such a really long, and to be honest lonely road to get here – something many of you will know if you’ve followed me for a while or listened to the podcast.
“We are very excited to be expecting our little IVF miracle in October.”
The influencer added: “I’ll be sharing a bit more over the coming weeks about our journey to get here but for now we’re just really excited to share our news with you all.
“We honestly just can’t believe our luck.”
Laura, who now lives in Halling, was the stand-out star of Channel 4’s Bake Off in 2020.
Since then, the body positivity advocate has gone on to write her book Diet Starts Monday, guiding others to self-acceptance.
Last year, she also launched pre-loved fashion store The Hangar near Rochester Airport with best friend Lottie Drynan.
The pair, who run the Instagram series “Same Dress, Different Bodies” together have more than 800,000 followers between them.
