A Sainsbury’s cafe in Kent will be shutting later this month.
The branch at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre in Gillingham will be closing on Friday, April 11.
In January, it was announced the supermarket giant would be closing four cafes across the county this year.
The others shutting are at Westwood Cross in Thanet, Pepper Hill in Gravesend and Larkfield in Aylesford.
The company is cutting 3,000 jobs, with 2% of its 148,000-strong workforce being slashed.
Around 20% of senior management roles are being cut as part of plans to focus on fewer, bigger roles and to simplify its head office and management teams.
More than 60 in-store cafes are being shut across the country as the supermarket claims the majority of shoppers do not use them regularly and are instead turning to food halls.
A sign has now been put up at the Medway branch confirming it will be closing this month.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said, “In January, we shared the difficult decision that our remaining Sainsbury’s Cafés would be closing and this will take place on April 11.
“Our stores continue to support the customers and communities they serve in a range of ways, including through fundraising, volunteering and donations to good causes.
“We’re exploring future opportunities for the space and will keep our colleagues and customers updated.”
