A lake, used for watersports has closed it doors to the public after police were called to the site.

St Andrews Lakes, known as the blue lake, off the A228 in Halling opened in February with plans for watersports and urban beach.

However, according to a Facebook post on the company's page it will no longer allow members of the public.

This comes after police were called to the site at 3.10pm on Thursday .

Police spokesman Jo Pattison said: "Police received reports of a group of people who were behaving antisocially.

"Officers attended and moved the group on."

Only qualified divers, open-water swimmers, paddleboarders and sailors will be permitted access to the lakes.

The facility is also a private training area for the Metropolitan Police.

It was previously a quarry and taken over by businessman and ex Medway Councillor Andrew Mackness.

The team who run St Andrews Lakes has been contacted for comment.
