Coronavirus Kent: Line of Duty star Vicky McClure to Medway NHS Foundation Trust

Medical staff in Medway were thrilled to receive a message from an award-winning actress.

Vicky McClure, who starred in hit BBC crime drama Line of Duty, thanked those working for Medway NHS Foundation Trust in a special video.

She said: "Just wanted to say we know you are going over and above, you are risking your lives, you're saving lives, you're protecting people, you are showing people love and care when they need it most.

"I hope you know how appreciated you are and you are heroes, and you've just got to take that. I know it's just your job, but it is way more than that and we are so thankful."

Critical care matron Jane Westhead tweeted the actress, who made the video at the weekend: "Honestly the team have been completely star struck and overwhelmed by your lovely message, tears all round!

"A perfect morale boost for a Sunday to prepare us for the week ahead!"
