Motorists are facing severe delays because of an abandoned car in the middle of a road.

Queues are building on Luton Road, Chatham, while police deal with the vehicle.

An eyewitness told KentOnline that delays are currently running at 30 minutes.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 4.57pm to a report an unaccompanied vehicle was causing an obstruction in Luton Road, Chatham.

"Officers are in attendance and are managing traffic while the vehicle awaits recovery.

"Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing".
