It comes after the British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed there had been a fatality on the tracks on Monday (October 13).

Officers and paramedics were called at around 6am, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A BTP spokesman said: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Heartbreaking notes have been written in black marker pen on the red football shirts, one of which is a strip for local side, Thamesview FC.

One said: “To Si, thank you [for] everything you did for me and the team. You will be missed. Croyde and family.”

Half a dozen bunches of flowers have also been left. One had a note which said: “My best mate. Love you forever.”

During the emergency service response, a police cordon was put in place over the bridge that morning, as children walked to the nearby Leigh Academy.

Southeastern also halted trains between Faversham and Rainham stations, with services returning to normal around 1pm.
