An 18-year-old man has been arrested after a teenager was allegedly sexually assaulted on a bus.

At around 4pm on Tuesday, March 25, a girl was travelling near Chatham town centre when she was approached by a man she didn't know.

He sat in a seat next to hers and it is alleged the girl was touched over her clothing before the man disembarked in Rainham.

The bus driver was alerted and a report was later made to police.

An investigation was launched and yesterday (May 1), officers arrested an 18-year-old man from the local area in connection with the incident.

He has been bailed while enquiries continue.
