A Rochester man has been charged with GBH after an elderly man found in City Way, Rochester with serious head injuries

A Rochester man has been charged with GBH after an elderly man sustained serious head injuries.

Police and two ambulance crews were called to a house in City Way, Rochester, in the early hours of Friday morning.

They were called to reports that an elderly man had been found with head injuries.

The man, who lived alone, was taken to London's King's College Hospital at 12.40am and remains in critical condition.

Police and forensic teams went to the address and carried out investigations.

Neighbours described how he lived alone and kept to himself, but often had his nephew over to visit.

Onkar Singh, 38, of City Way, Rochester, was charged with GBH with intent and was remanded to Chatham Magistrates Court for a hearing today.
