Northfleet man Faustas Demidovas charged with armed robberies in Strood and Dartford

A man has been charged following a number of robberies across north Kent this month.

Faustas Demidovas, of Black Eagle Drive, Northfleet, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court today after being refused bail.

The 29-year-old is charged with possessing an air weapon and robbery following an incident at Premier Stores, Bligh Way, Strood, on Friday, February 21.

A member of staff was taken to hospital after being shot in the face with a BB gun while a member of the public was assaulted when a group wearing balaclavas burst into the shop at about 11pm.

Additionally, Demidovas was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a man in Rochester on the same day.

He was also charged with possessing an imitation firearm and robbery at East Hill Food and Wine in Dartford, on Thursday, February 15.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on March 23.
