A man has been charged after a woman reported being attacked and raped.

Police were called to Dock Road in Chatham at 2.40am.

The alleged assault happened in the subway between Dock Road and Melville Court.

Samuel Crabtree has been charged with rape, sexual assault and committing an offence with the intention of committing a sexual offence after he was arrested on Sunday.

The 30-year-old of Cecil Road, Rochester, has been remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today.
