Gillingham man charged with stalking after woman reported being followed and harassed

A man has been charged with stalking after a woman reported being followed through a town park and verbally harassed.

It happened as she was walking across The Great Lines in Gillingham on Wednesday just before 8pm.

She called the police and confirmed she knew the man following her.

A police spokesman said she got home safely and a man was arrested.

Darren Willer, 46, of Romany Road in Gillingham was charged with stalking.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
