Man in his 50s collapses and dies on Chatham High Street outside Costa Coffee

Emergency services were called to Chatham High Street yesterday after a man collapsed and died outside Costa Coffee.

A spokesman from South East Ambulance Service said they were called at 10.45am to reports a man, aged in his 50s, had collapsed and was unconscious with a head injury.

The spokesman said: "At some point after the call was made, it was confirmed that he had gone into cardiac arrest.

"Sadly, despite the efforts of everyone there, he was pronounced dead at the scene."

Paramedics, firefighters and police attended.
