Man in his 50s found dead close to Go Outdoors near The Brook, Chatham

A man's body has been found after police and ambulance crews were called to a car park.

Kent Police and ambulance were seen at a multi-storey car park close to Go Outdoors on The Brook, Chatham, this afternoon.

A man, aged in his 50s, was found dead in a nearby stairwell.

Police spokesman Chris Herbert said: "The death is currently being treated as unexplained. Officers are still at the scene."

A forensic van is in the multi-storey car park, in Cross Street, as officers carry out their investigations.

South East Coast Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.

Go Outdoors is still open.
